SFP-H25G-CU2M DAC लगाने पर Catalyst C9300X-24Y FEC को auto पर reset कर देता है, FortiGate तक link टूट जाता है
Poster एक Cisco Catalyst C9300X-24Y को 25G SFP-H25G-CU2M DAC से एक FortiGate firewall से जोड़ता है। जब भी DAC लगता है switch log करता है '%PLATFORM_PM-6-MODULE_INSERTED: SFP module inserted with interface name Twe1/0/23' उसके बाद '%PLATFORM_PM-6-DIFFERENT_MODULE_INSERTED: Warning: SFP module inserted in to the interface Twe1/0/23 differs from the previously inserted one. The port's fec configuration will be set to the default.'। FEC setting auto पर वापस चली जाती है, जिसे FortiGate support नहीं करता, तो link कभी up नहीं होता। दोनों devices को उन्हीं के दो ports एक ही cable type से loop करके 25G-capable confirm किया गया; सिर्फ cross-vendor combination fail होता है।

exact switch model और software version क्या है? अलग-अलग module types support करने वाले multi-gigabit ports पर, वह warning असल में expected हो सकती है। क्या FortiGate 25G support भी करता है? साथ ही, एक 10G SFP module आज़माओ, इससे साबित हो जाएगा कि issue Fortinet के साथ DAC compatibility का नहीं है।
क्या SFP-H25G-CU2M असल में Cisco-sourced है? कोई non-Cisco cable इसकी वजह हो सकती है। FEC negotiation port auto-negotiation exchange का हिस्सा है, तो Twe1/0/23 पर 'no negotiation auto' आज़माओ और फिर port parameters hard-code करो।
