ConnectX-7 keeps a third-party QSFP112 400G SR4 module in low-power state: CMIS/EEPROM validation fails
A QSFP112 400G SR4 module in a ConnectX-7 (MCX755106AC-HEAT) with an MPO-12 Type-B cable showed module state Ready and data path DPActivated, but mlxlink --show_module reported State = Disable, Supported Cable Speed = 0x00000000, Compliance = Unspecified/Undefined, Power Class 1.5 W (too low for 400G), Vcc around 120 mV instead of 3.3 V and RX power -40 dBm on all lanes with the recommendation Cable speed not enabled, while the far end transmitted about +3 dBm.

The NIC firmware detected the module but treated it as non-compliant (invalid media compliance code, zero speed bitmap, wrong power class and host electrical interface in the CMIS pages) and deliberately left it in low-power mode without enabling RX. Check firmware support for QSFP112 SR4, set ALLOW_UNSUPPORTED_CABLES, watch whether Vcc reaches 3.3 V, and compare with an NVIDIA-qualified module.
