Aruba 2540 still rejects Cisco SFP-H10GB-CU3M DACs after allow-unsupported-transceiver
3
The poster wanted to connect Aruba 2540 switches (JL357A, firmware YC.16.09.0001) to Cisco Catalyst 9300 switches using Cisco SFP-H10GB-CU3M DACs. After enabling allow-unsupported-transceiver the cables were still not recognised: show tech transceivers listed the port as unsupported, the LED flashed orange and the log said port 52 Transceiver type not supported in this port. The poster assumed the command should make any DAC work.
- Hardware: Aruba 2540 JL357A, Cisco Catalyst 9300

allow-unsupported-transceiver only lets the switch try a module; HPE documents that there is no guarantee third-party parts will work and support may be refused. Enable debug logging to see why the DAC is rejected.
The poster gave up on the DACs and used SFP+ LC fibre optics (or LACP over other links) instead.
