NIC Intel 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+ bekas dari eBay disambungkan dengan DAC SFP+ 10Gtek, dan lewat switch QNAP, dengan transceiver SR 10Gtek lewat OM3. Di Linux, dmesg berulang-ulang NIC Link is Up 10 Gbps / NIC Link is Down; di FreeBSD, interface-nya menunjukkan no carrier dan DHCP gagal. allow_unsupported_sfp=1 sudah di-set di Linux, dan optik FTLX8571D3BCV-IT ber-coding Intel tetap flapping di FreeBSD.

Pakai DAC 10Gtek yang khusus buat Intel (XDACBL2M), disable FEC/auto-negotiation pakai ethtool, dan test cabling switch-ke-server secara terpisah.
Penulis pertanyaan menyerah dengan card Intel-nya: Chelsio S310 (bekas, di bawah 20 USD) dan Myricom Myri-10G dengan transceiver yang cocok langsung link penuh di 10G.
