Một host XCP-ng với Intel X520-DA2 và transceiver Finisar SFP+ ghi log failed to load because an unsupported SFP+ or QSFP module type was detected. insmod với allow_unsupported_sfp=1 báo lỗi Unknown symbol in module; options ixgbe allow_unsupported_sfp=1 trong /etc/modprobe.d/ixgbe-options.conf chỉ làm được một trong hai port hoạt động và không giữ được qua các lần reboot.

Dùng kernel boot parameter ixgbe.allow_unsupported_sfp=1,1 với mỗi port một giá trị; trên XCP-ng thêm nó vào dòng module2 trong /etc/grub.cfg (BIOS) hoặc /etc/grub-efi.cfg (UEFI). Sau đó cả hai port đều hoạt động bền vững qua reboot.
