एक Mellanox ConnectX-3 40GbE NIC को Mellanox QSFP passive copper cables (MC2210126-005) से एक Dell PowerConnect 8164 (firmware 5.1.4.5) से जोड़ने पर कुछ second के लिए link-up event आया और उसके बाद permanent link-down। वही cables NIC-to-NIC काम करते थे, और Dell ने support देने से मना कर दिया क्योंकि cables उनके switches के साथ untested थे। एक और user ने PowerConnect 8024F (सिर्फ़ Dell SFP+ cables) और Brocade 8000 पर भी यही report किया।
