SFP 1G trên Intel X710 (pfSense, ixl) lỗi unqualified module cho tới khi optic được recode thành Intel
Trên một Protectli Vault 6 với cổng SFP+ Intel X710 (ixl0/ixl1), một SFP 1G EZConn ETB43315-7S34-FR hiện no carrier. Log chứa Invalid advertised speed; valid flags are: 0x06, ixl1_set_link: Error getting phy capabilities -37, aq error: 8 và Link failed because an unqualified module was detected!. Ép media (ifconfig ixl1 media 1000baseLX trả về Operation not supported), chỉnh sysctl advertise_speed, tunable hw.ixl.unsupported_sfp=1, và vài hãng SFP 1G khác đều lỗi, trong khi một module Cisco 10G LR lại link tốt. Nâng cấp firmware NIC từ 6.1.49420 lên 9.40 khiến module được nhận diện nhưng vẫn không link.

Recode các SFP thành vendor data Intel bằng một FS Box khiến chúng link ngay lập tức ở autoselect mà không cần cấu hình gì thêm; X710 dưới FreeBSD yêu cầu nghiêm ngặt optic code Intel.
Cập nhật firmware NIC lên 9.40 giúp việc nhận diện nhưng không giúp link lên; tunable i2c_access_method và hw.ixl.unsupported_sfp không có tác dụng gì.
