Intel X710 (pfSense, ixl) पर 1G SFP unqualified module के साथ fail होता है, जब तक optic को Intel के तौर पर recode न किया जाए
Intel X710 SFP+ ports (ixl0/ixl1) वाले एक Protectli Vault 6 पर एक 1G EZConn ETB43315-7S34-FR SFP ने no carrier दिखाया। Logs में Invalid advertised speed; valid flags are: 0x06, ixl1_set_link: Error getting phy capabilities -37, aq error: 8 और Link failed because an unqualified module was detected! थे। media force करना (ifconfig ixl1 media 1000baseLX ने Operation not supported लौटाया), sysctl advertise_speed tweaks, hw.ixl.unsupported_sfp=1 tunable और कई और 1G SFP brands, सब fail हुए, जबकि एक 10G Cisco LR module बढ़िया link हुआ। NIC firmware को 6.1.49420 से 9.40 पर upgrade करने से module detect तो होने लगा पर link फिर भी नहीं बना।

FS Box से SFPs को Intel vendor data पर recode करने से वे autoselect पर बिना किसी और configuration के तुरंत link हो गए; FreeBSD के नीचे X710 को सख्ती से Intel-coded optics चाहिए होते हैं।
9.40 पर NIC firmware update ने detection में मदद की पर link में नहीं; i2c_access_method tunable और hw.ixl.unsupported_sfp का कोई असर नहीं हुआ।
