SFP Doctor: open hardware/software to read and rewrite SFP OUI and identity when write access is not locked

Question

An open-source hardware and software project to read and modify SFP/SFP+ EEPROM, aimed at changing the OUI and other identity fields so a module works with third-party transceivers where the vendor has not fully disabled write access. It uses a Cypress CY8CKIT-059 board as the USB interface. As of the notes the hardware was built and tested but the desktop software was not yet functional.

With the Cypress board reading and rewriting the OUI is possible where write protection is not enforced; the software layer was incomplete at the time of writing.
