EdgeSwitch ES-24 will not link to HP/Netgear/Juniper/Cisco over 1G SX SFPs until the peer disables auto-negotiation
Newly delivered EdgeSwitch ES-24 units linked to each other over gigabit SX SFPs, but the same modules (HP J4858B, J4858A, Avago AFBR-57M5APZ, Avaya AFBR5715PZ, Cisco) would not link ES-24 to HP ProCurve (four models) or Netgear (two models): the ES-24 showed a link light, the other side did not. Other users reproduced it against Juniper MX routers (optic confirmed receiving light) and a Cisco 3560.

Ubiquiti staff: on the HP/Netgear/Juniper/Cisco side disable auto-negotiation and force 1 Gbps (full duplex); this brought links up for several users and a firmware fix was being tested.
On stackable Netgear units make sure the SFP+ slot is in Ethernet mode, not stack mode (show stack-port); one HP user needed forced full duplex rather than speed.
