Where to configure the channel on a DWDM-SFP10G-C tunable optic

The poster could not find Cisco documentation describing how to set the frequency or ITU channel of a DWDM-SFP10G-C tunable 10G SFP+. A follow-up question asked whether a CPAK-100G-LR4 in a CRS-X 4-port 100GE LAN/OTN card could be tuned to a wavelength and connected directly to a ROADM of an existing DWDM network. Years later another user upgraded a Nexus 3100 to NX-OS 7.0(3)I7(4), whose release notes list DWDM-SFP10G-C support, but found no way in the documentation to set the wavelength, and noted that the 10G transceiver compatibility guide does not list the optic for that platform.

On IOS XR the tuning is done under the DWDM controller with 'wavelength {channel-number | frequency | update}' (see the CRS DWDM command reference); 'no wavelength' returns the default.
A CPAK-100G-LR4 uses four wavelengths around 1310 nm multiplexed inside the module, while ROADMs work in the 1550 nm band, so it cannot be connected directly to a ROADM; the CRS offers a tunable 100G DWDM line card (1-100GE-DWDM/C) but no tunable 100G CPAK.
