EX4600 nie tworzy interfejsu dla 1G WDM SFP innego producenta zakodowanego jako Fibre Channel

Na Juniperze EX4600 z Junosem 14.1X53-D27.3 autor wpiął niecertyfikowany jednomodowy SFP WDM (BiDi) 1G, 20 km, TX 1550 / RX 1310 nm z DDM, do ge-0/0/1. Interfejs nigdy się nie pojawił: show interfaces zwracało error: device ge-0/0/1 not found, a w logu zapisało się XCVR: Unit 1, Fibre channel transceiver plugged in without Fibre channel configuration. Autor chciał wiedzieć, czemu optyka Ethernet została potraktowana jako moduł Fibre Channel.
