EX4600, Fibre Channel के तौर पर coded एक third-party 1G WDM SFP के लिए interface नहीं बनाता
Junos 14.1X53-D27.3 चला रहे एक Juniper EX4600 पर poster ने एक non-certified 1G single-mode WDM (BiDi) SFP, 20 km, TX 1550 / RX 1310 nm, DDM के साथ, ge-0/0/1 में डाला। Interface कभी दिखा ही नहीं: show interfaces ने error: device ge-0/0/1 not found लौटाया, और log में यह दर्ज हुआ XCVR: Unit 1, Fibre channel transceiver plugged in without Fibre channel configuration। Poster जानना चाहता था कि Ethernet optic को Fibre Channel module क्यों माना गया।

Module का EEPROM गलत coded है और 1000BASE Ethernet की जगह Fibre Channel compliance advertise करता है, इसलिए switch इसे FC optic मानता है; एक ठीक से coded 1G Ethernet SFP चाहिए।
Juniper generally third-party optics बर्दाश्त कर लेता है, पर जहाँ तक मुझे पता है इस platform पर WDM/BiDi types बिल्कुल supported नहीं हैं।
