HP 5900AF logga OPTMOD/4/PHONY_MODULE per moduli Avago e JDSU 10G SR mentre un peer Cisco 6500 mostra input error
Un HP 5900AF-48XG-4QSFP+ (Comware 7.1.045 R2311P01) loggava OPTMOD/4/PHONY_MODULE: This is not a supported transceiver for this platform per due moduli SFP+ 10G SR; display transceiver interface li identificava come Avago e JDSU 10G_BASE_SR_SFP con DDM. L'autore voleva sapere quali SFP+ comprare e come leggere da remoto il part installato. Il lato data-centre (una porta Cisco 6500 TenGigabitEthernet) mostrava 68270 input errors, 68439 giants e un contatore overrun enorme, e le fibre erano già state sostituite.

Usa display transceiver interface Ten-GigabitEthernet x/y/z per vedere vendor e tipo; Comware segnala le ottiche ProCurve/di altre marche ma normalmente funzionano, e diversi operatori fanno girare ottiche non supportate per anni tenendo quelle supportate sui link IRF.
Confronta i contatori di errore su entrambi i lati; i conteggi di overrun e giant sul lato Cisco puntano a un problema di traffico/MTU piuttosto che al transceiver, quindi sostituire le ottiche è stato lasciato come ultima risorsa.
