Global configuration mode में service unsupported-transceiver डालो (? में नहीं दिखता, फिर भी स्वीकार होता है), और errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid configured हो तो उसे भी negate करो। इससे non-Cisco optics enable होते हैं, लेकिन चलने की गारंटी नहीं मिलती।

Cisco की warranty policy के मुताबिक, अगर खराबी third-party optics से जुड़ी निकले तो उन्हें Cisco parts से बदलने तक सपोर्ट रोका जा सकता है।
