E810-XXVDA2, SFP28 optics के साथ 25G पर link नहीं करता जब तक NVM को 4.20 पर update न करें
एक बिल्कुल नया retail Intel E810-XXVDA2, Windows Server 2022 (Intel driver 1.12.164.0, release package 28 से) पर, एक Ubiquiti USW-Pro-Aggregation switch के SFP28 port से connect किया गया। SFP28 DAC के साथ link तुरंत 25G पर up हो गया, पर SFP28 optical transceivers (Ubiquiti UACC-OM-SFP-28-SR और एक generic Intel-coded SFP28) के साथ 25G पर कोई link establish नहीं हुआ; same optics 10G पर force करने पर link हो गए, और SFP+ 10G optics भी काम कर गए। Port-to-port loopback 25G पर switch और NIC दोनों पर pass हुआ, तो optics और fibre ठीक थे। दोनों ends पर 25G force करना और अलग-अलग FEC settings try करना (switch FC-FEC/BASE-R use करता है और FEC disable भी कर सकता है) कुछ नहीं बदला। Adapter की driver properties में भी Media Type और Negotiated Link Speed fields खाली रहे।

Intel के NVMUpdate tool (1.39.32.6) से adapter NVM को 3.20 से 4.20 (released 17 Feb 2023, DevId 159B) पर update करते ही तुरंत fix हो गया। Speed और FEC को auto पर छोड़ने पर, link 25G पर up हो गया जितने भी SFP28 modules try किए सबके साथ: Ubiquiti UACC-OM-SFP-28-SR, Intel-coded generic module, एक FC-FEC SFP28 और एक SFP28 AOC। Update के बाद, Media Type में "Fiber-SR" और Negotiated Link Speed में "16.0 GT/s" दिखा।
आप transceiver model बता सकते हैं, और क्या दोनों sides पर autonegotiation disable करके 25G full duplex force किया गया था? मैं इसे suspected switch/NIC compatibility issue मानकर escalate कर रहा हूँ।
