Huawei switches with third-party optics log SRM/3/SFP_EXCEPTION ... Optical module exception, SFP is not certified daily, cluttering the logs during migrations even though the modules work. The modules pass traffic normlaly, but the daily SFP_EXCEPTION traps flood the log buffer and the syslog server, which is especially annoying during migrations where existing third-party optics are kept in place.

  • Hardware: Huawei switches
  • Transceivers: third-party SFP/SFP+
  • Form factor: SFP, SFP+

The alarm does not affect operation; suppress it with transceiver phony-alarm-disable or, on other models, transceiver non-certified-alarm disable. Third-party optics may void support if a fault occurs.
