ADDON JD097C-AO DAC links two US-48-500W switches but not the US-16-XG, which still reads the cable EEPROM
An ADDON JD097C-AO SFP+ DAC worked between two US-48-500W (firmware 3.3.11.3850) but not from a US-48-500W to a US-16-XG (3.7.39.6089): no link lights on either side and forcing 10G made no difference, although mca-dump on the XG showed the module fully parsed (sfp_found true, vendor ADDON, part JD097C-AO, compliance DAC, speed 10000, up false). A NAS with SFP+ also linked to the US-48 but not to the XG.

Early US-16-XG units had known DAC negotiation problems, worse on the outer ports (0, 1, 11, 12); try middle ports, expect a firmware update, and note that shorter passive DACs interoperate better (3 m Mellanox cables produced RX errors, 1 m did not).
The poster returned the DACs and used UF-MM-10G optcis with fibre between the switches, which was also cheaper.
