After upgrading a CRS309-1G-8S+IN from RouterOS 6.48.6 to 7.14.1 (and 7.15beta8), ports 5 and 7 with 10Gtek ASF-GE-T (FTRJ8519P1BNL-PT) copper SFPs showed sfp-rx-loss: yes and no-link when auto-negotiation was enabled; disabling auto-negotiation and forcing 1G full duplex restored the link. Hardware involved: MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+IN, 10Gtek ASF-GE-T (FTRJ8519P1BNL-PT).

  • Hardware: MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+IN
  • Transceivers: 10Gtek ASF-GE-T (FTRJ8519P1BNL-PT)
  • Form factr: SFP

Symptoms / messages:

sfp-rx-loss: yes
no-link with auto-negotiation on
works only with forced 1G

Accepted answer

MikroTik support identified an incorrectly configured module EEPROM as the cause and recommended sfp-ignore-rx-los=yes on the interface, which keeps cable detection while working around the bogus RX-LOS signal.

Alternative suggestion: restrict auto-negotiation to 1000Base-X only.
