UDM SE recognises a 30 m UACC-AOC-SFP10 but logs an SFP EEPROM error and the Minisforum MS-01 X710 never lights the port
A short no-name DAC between a UDM SE and a Minisforum MS-01 had worked for months; a new 30 m Ubiquiti UACC-AOC-SFP10-30M active optical cable was recognised by the UDM SE (vendor, part, serial, temperrature, power visible) but no link came up and the SFP port log showed an SFP EEPROM error; on either MS-01 SFP+ port the AOC did not light the port LEDs at all.

An AOC behaves like a DAC but has three failure points (two active ends plus the fibre), and 30 m is a long pull; a dud or kinked cable was suspected. For such distances use two 10GBASE-SR modules with an OM4 LC patch instead.
Loop the AOC between the two MS-01 ports to test it; remember that Intel X710 NICs vendor-lock active optics (an AOC is effectively an optic) unlike passive DACs, so check dmesg for unsupported-module messages and read the EEPROM with ethtool -m.
