UniFi SFP Wizard web GUI: read/back up/write SFP EEPROM, limited to modules in the password database

A web-based (Web Bluetooth) GUI for the UniFi SFP-Wizard device that reads SFP EEPROM, saves backups as .uieeprom files and writes from a prior backup. Limitations: the API does not flash directly; the dump goes to the device snapshot buffer for manual confirmation on the hardware; newer firmware only flashes modules whose part number is in the password database (Ubiquiti-branded parts, not third-party); modules inserted during boot cannot be read; a local backup must exist before writing.

  • Hardware: UniFi SFP-Wizard device
  • Transceivers: Ubiquiti-branded SFP, third-party SFP (unsupported)
  • Form factor: SFP

Symptoms / messages:

unsigned/unknown module cannot be flashed
module not read if inserted at boot

Accepted answer

Back up the module (a local .uieeprom backup is mandatory before any write), then push the dump to the snapshot buffer and confirm on the physical Wizard; only database-listed (Ubiquiti) part numbers can be flashed.
