CCR1016 SFP+ ports reject 40 km 1550 nm modules because their EEPROM identifies them as DWDM-SFP
FS.com 40 km 1550 nm SFP+ modules (item 11592) showed their information in a MikroTik CCR1016 but never linked in the SFP+ ports, whatever the auto-negotiation, 1G/10G speed or flow-control settings; standard 10G modules (item 29851) worked in the same ports, and the 40 km modules ran at 1G in plain SFP slots. A newer RouterOS monitor command revealed the modules were classified as DWDM-SFP.

MikroTik staff: the SFP+ PHY firmware refuses modules whose identifier byte marks them as DWDM; the module EEPROM must be reprogrammed so the first byte reads 03h (standard SFP/SFP+). The supplier reprogrammed the modules under RMA.
